2022 Veteran’s Day events will be held in Kinston on November 4th beginning with the brick dedication at the Walk of Honor at 2:30 followed by a special US flag disposal/retirement ceremony. On Saturday, November 5th at the VA Home on Hull Rd, fellow veterans, community veteran supporters and citizens, with hold a small parade for the residents of the home. Participants of the parade are asked to line up at 9:30 am for the parade to begin promptly at 10:00 am. Antique cars, floats, scout groups and decorative motor vehicles are welcome. That same night at the Kinston High Performing Arts Center, the annual Salute Tribute Show will feature the Tar River Community band concert. Other events around Kinston include on Saturday, November 5th, a special model airplane show hosted by the Kinston Aeromodelers at the model airfield behind the old Lowes’ Food Club on Airport Road from 1-4 pm. For those who have more adult interests, the Beer Bar off East New Bern Road, will be holding their 4th annual Chili Cook-off. Veterans will be honored during a special program at 6 pm and all funds raised will benefit the Lucky Cats program.
